Up early to make the 350-400 miles to Syracuse. Raining this morn, but gently and without wind. Passing through Cleveland on an early Saturday morning must be the perfect time.
I-90 is steady but not too busy. There are miles of construction but spaces out so that traffic flies along. There are clouds overhead all day but other than morning showers I don’t get rained on.
There’s an old Erie Canal lock along the side of the interstate just into New York. I don’t see it until I’m nearly past it and can’t stop. I pass Buffalo and Rochester and move on toward Syracuse. Tollways for the better part of the last 700 mile.
Storm clouds gather up ahead and these are dark and low. But thankfully my luck holds and I make it to the hotel without getting wet. On to Canada tomorrow to spend Canada Day in Montreal.
