Ljubljana, Slovenia

We have a day to explore the lovely city of Ljubljana and from the minute we pull into town I know it will not be enough. It’s far too lovely to want to leave it so soon. But we will make the most of the time we have.

The old city is built along the banks of a river and narrow cobblestones streets radiate out from its banks. Our guide leads us through lovely churches, beautiful parks and markets. Afterward we stop for a lunch of fresh local sausage and soup and beer. I can tell we are close to the border with Austria just from the influences in the cuisine.

I can already tell this is a city I would like to come back to someday.

  1. Beautiful Pictures! I’ve been enjoying following you around the world. I have a question about this post though – that picture of the tall, cylindrical statue that has the faces carved in it? That’s very powerful. Did you get an opportunity to find out what it designed for? Thanks!!
