Lake Bled, Slovenia

This is the last stop on our tour, and probably one of the few places I had heard of and seen in photos before visiting this part of the world. And it’s every bit as lovely as I had hoped.

We arrive too late to enjoy the lake on our first evening but get s glimpse of a lovely sunset. In the morning we visit the castle on top of the hill near the lake and get a view of it from above.

On our second evening we walk all along the lakeside path, circumnavigating the lake in an hour or two, and stop to sample roasted chestnuts and feed the swans and ducks.
